TORONTO, May 29, 2017 – The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) today releases a Discussion Paper and launches province-wide consultations for its Improving the Last Stages of Life project. These consultations will run continuously from June through September 2017.

The project responds to public concerns regarding how the law shapes the rights, choices, and quality of life for persons in Ontario who are in the last stages of life. The project seeks to address the experiences of everyone involved in the dying process, including individuals, caregivers and other family and friends, health care institutions and professionals, governments, and other professional and community organizations.
