Avoiding Fraud and Misrepresentation

The growing incidence of fraudulent schemes is putting many older adults in harm’s way. Scams, cohesion and aggressive sales techniques threaten damage are all forms of abuse. “Any action or inaction by any person which causes harm or threatens to cause harm to an older adult”. Seniors abuse can take various forms including financial abuse. On Tuesday September 26th Constable John Sconza will share vital information you need to avoid fraud and misrepresentation.

In this insightful workshop you will gain a better understanding of:

    • Online, telephone and lottery scams
  • Identity Fraud
  • 911 – What you need to know
  • Personal Safety – Being aware of your surroundings and your own instincts
  • Crime Prevention – What to be aware of when answering your door or engaging online

Constable John Sconza is Community Relations Officer at 32 Division. His career with Toronto Police Services began 27 years ago with central traffic at 12 Division. Constable Sconza later moving to 32 Division where he has held various posts for the past 19 years.
